Firefighters in Connecticut are battling multiple brush fires that broke out across the state amid dry and breezy conditions.
A brush fire in Bridgeport spread quickly up a hill due to the conditions, but firefighters were able to contain it and prevent damage to nearby homes.
"We were very lucky, we got the first line in operation to protect the home," said Assistant Chief Andrew Ellis of the Bridgeport Fire Department.
One firefighter suffered a minor injury while battling the flames.
In addition to the Bridgeport fire, at least four separate fires broke out in Litchfield on Monday afternoon. Firefighters responded quickly and prevented them from spreading.
