The first of two rounds of winter weather is hitting the morning commute Friday prompting some delays and school closures.
The snow began slowly overnight and left behind a small coating on the ground and cars.
Although no major issues have been reported, commuters driving on the roads appear to be taking it slower.
The snow wrapped up around 7 a.m. but a more significant snowstorm is expected to roll into the region Saturday night into Sunday.
The storm will also conclude with a flash freeze Monday.
