Glenn Oztemel, a former Westport oil trader, has been convicted of bribing Brazilian officials to secure contracts for his employers.
Oztemel paid over $1 million in bribes from 2010 to 2018, prosecutors said.
The bribes benefited two companies – Arcadia Fuels and Freepoint Commodities.
The scheme secured lucrative contracts for these companies through influence with Brazilian officials.
Oztemel faces sentencing for his role in the international bribery scheme.
