Friends and family of a man who died in a motorcycle crash on Thursday say he was a large part of Bridgeport's community and culture.
As News 12 reported, 40-year-old Luis Santiago died after becoming trapped underneath a city bus.
Officials say Santiago lost control of his motorcycle, possibly due to brake failure.
Mayor Joe Ganim says in the wake of the crash, he will be working hard to build awareness about safety on city streets.
"You've got to be diligent on the road, especially if you're on a motorcycle," he says.
Friends say Santiago's family is still in the process of planning his funeral.
