The brother and cousin of a Norwalk gas station store clerk who was shot and killed during a robbery say their relative told them he wanted to quit his job because he believed it was too dangerous.
Jose Joaquin Morales, of Stamford, was shot in the head by a burglar who demanded money from him at the Shell station on East Avenue in Norwalk. Morales' cousin, Marvin, says he and other relatives are hoping to send Morales' body back to his native Guatemala.
Morales' brother, Hector, says he was generous and always sent money to help his siblings. Morales also donated his organs in his death.
His funeral will be held in southwestern Connecticut.
