Norwalk-based travel company Priceline hosted its 19th annual Holiday Food Drive on Tuesday morning.
Money raised will go toward helping feed those most in need in Lower Fairfield County.
They collected food items like cereal, pasta, sauce, peanut butter and more from Costco in Norwalk.
The drive raised over $93,000 -- Priceline was able to use that money to fill two truckloads of food.
"This is something we look forward to all year long, and people have been very generous to donate and give from their own pockets,” said Brett Keller, CEO of Priceline. “We're just excited to be able to contribute and help because we know how big of an issue this is."
The food they bought will fill the shelves at the Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County.
"It means everything, it means…we're not being ignored,” said Kate Lombardo, executive director of the food bank.
The drive was a reminder for volunteers that this is a year-round necessity. The
bank is available to accept food donations Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., anyone can stop by and drop off.
For now, they are most in need of jelly/jam and canned milk.
