Gov. Ned Lamont announced Thursday that people who are fully vaccinated won't be required to wear masks indoors starting May 19 after the CDC issued updated mask guidance.
Businesses like Stew Leonard's have less than a week to figure out what they'll do about customers entering their store with masks on or off if they're fully vaccinated. It says it's reviewing all this new information that came out from the CDC.
Lamont also
announced that on June 1, customer-facing state offices will reopen June 1, and
by July 1, the state will return to a pre-pandemic working model.
Fully vaccinated people also do not need to maintain social distancing in many circumstances, the CDC says.
As for people who are unvaccinated, the CDC says you should continue wearing your mask and get vaccinated right away.
Lamont says businesses can make their own decisions regarding this new unmasking guidance.
