Gov. Ned Lamont inched closer to issuing a decision on whether students will be required to wear masks in schools past Sept. 30 when asked about the issue on Tuesday.
He said that students will be required to wear masks at the start of the school year under the existing executive order that lasts through Sept. 30.
“I've said all along we're going to give our schools about two weeks' notice, that's what we've done throughout this pandemic, give people notice so they can plan. So, that'd be Wednesday or Thursday this week,” he said.
The governor says he thinks cities and towns are doing well implementing their own indoor mask mandates when warranted. He reiterated if you are unvaccinated, you must wear a mask indoors in public.
