Gov. Ned Lamont warned residents of treacherous road conditions as gusty winds sweep the area following the winter nor'easter Saturday.
Gov. Lamont spoke with News 12 and said the combination of fierce wind and heavy snow made travel very difficult.
Lamont said another challenge the state is facing is the limited amount of Department of Transportation employees. He says DOT is down about 30% of their workforce.
However, Gov. Lamont says the state hired 200 contractors and has about 600 plows on the roadways.
Lamont says despite the gusty winds and heavy snow, there are around only 100 power outages.
However, he says the storm could intensify for portions of the state which could result in more outages.
