Hauppauge man faces hate crime charges for allegedly making anti-Arab remarks

Police say the incident happened in the parking lot of Smith Haven Plaza in Lake Grove last Wednesday.

A Hauppauge man is facing hate crime charges after police say he made anti-Arab remarks at two men, and then drove his car toward one of them twice. 
Police say the incident happened in the parking lot of Smith Haven Plaza in Lake Grove last Wednesday.
According to police, the 55-year-old Peter Domenichello made the discriminatory remarks then attempted to hit one of the victims.
Neither man was injured.
Police say the 55-year-old suspect was also making anti-Arab remarks to other people shortly before this incident in the same shopping center. 
Domenichello will be arraigned on felony hate charges a later date.
