Classes at Head O' Meadow Elementary School were canceled today after a threat was phoned in before students arrived.
Parents say they received an email just as they were preparing to get their children ready to board the school buses.
Police cleared the school's parking lot as administrators sent staff home. School officials say police were already at the building and decided to cancel classes just as a precaution.
Police would not specify what type of threat was made, but investigators say it turned out to be unfounded. A patrol car remained on the scene in the parking lot throughout the afternoon.
There is no word yet if the school will reopen for classes tomorrow.
