The National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals in Fairfield County is breaking down the stigma to homeownership.
Leslie Figueroa, a real estate agent for Keller Williams, became involved with the organization to educate the Hispanic community on the process of becoming a homeowner.
"We share the same cultures, we share the same aspirations, we come from the same backgrounds. So, we have those parents who are hardworking, and how can we help them achieve their ultimate goals of homeownership in the U.S," said Figueroa.
The organization said it's breaking down barriers by hosting events like The NAHREP Business Rally.
Yellow Brick real estate agent Every Galarza says the event serves as an expo for Latino Business within the real estate business.
The NAHREP said these resources are essential to the overall economics for Hispanics in Fairfield County and beyond.
According to a NAHREP report - in 2022, the rate of Hispanic homeownership in the U.S was just over 48%
NAHREP said its goal is to increase that number to over 70%.
