Hundreds turned out for an economic conference in Bridgeport on Saturday.

Organizers said the event at Housatonic Community College featured panelists from across the country.

They said the focus of the conference was "changing America's current economic paradigm for a more progressive alternative."

"It's phenomenal. I mean, we have such distinguished panelists here. I can't tell you how exciting this is to have them come to our town and being able to inform us about this," said master of ceremonies Wayne Winston.
