Hundreds of people gathered in Greenwich Saturday for a public memorial service honoring Selectman David Theis.
Theis passed away unexpectedly in December after serving as a selectman for several years.
Hundreds packed inside the Christ Church in Greenwich. His funeral was earlier this month, but the town wanted to honor the selectman with another service.
Theis was a longtime volunteer and was first elected as selectman in 2009.
In lieu of flowers, mourners were asked to donate to the Greenwich Old Timers Athletic Association or Adopt A Dog in Armonk.
There is no word yet on who will replace Theis in office.
