Hundreds of Stratford residents were without power for three hours Monday. The power came back on about 4 p.m. but the outage left some residents along Early Avenue a little heated. Bill Ostrum of United Illuminating (UI) says it's usually transformers that blow once the weather heats up. Monday?s outage was traced back to a burning wire on Lordship Boulevard. UI has crews and trucks at the ready in case the hot weather leads to more outages.
