A Bridgeport mom told News 12 she is furious after a teen took a video of her son using the toilet and posted it online earlier this month.
The mother, who asked not to be named to protect her son’s privacy, revealed her 13-year-old was using the toilet while another student used a cellphone to film him.
"I can't explain in words the feeling I had when I saw the video,” the mother said. “I can't explain how hurt I feel for him and how it's not fair to invade his privacy."
She says the principal contacted her twice, both the day that her son complained and the next day to tell her that there was a video, which she came to the school and watched.
The student with the phone was suspended, but she remains angry at the other kids who laughed or later teased her son and were not punished.
"I don't know what this may cause in the future for him," she added. "Depression is real and stuff like that.'"
The school’s interim superintendent has spoken with the mother saying, "We are following our Code of Conduct to administer appropriate discipline for student(s) involved in this case. The district takes matters that endanger the well- being of students very seriously."
