Lake Compounce amusement park in Bristol launched its 2020 season Wednesday after a two-month delay.
"We are the oldest continuously operating amusement park in North America. We're celebrating our 174th year this year," said marketing director Amy Thomas.
Jessica Moreno came back for Day 1 to see how staff handled the reopening. She had the park to herself.
The park is operating at 25% capacity, along with new rules.
"If you're a family of four on a roller coaster, you're more than welcome to sit together. But that next party will be socially-distanced from you," said Thomas.
Games are open, but seats are set 10 feet apart. Cleaning crews are everywhere, and temperature checks and masks are required.
Some rides didn't make the cut this year. Bumper cars are closed because it did not meet the social distancing standard.
The water park rides will open next week.
This week is only open for season pass holders. Lake Compounce opens to the general public Monday but visitors must make a reservation online.
