Lawmakers gathered to talk about school security at the capitol.

Republican legislators held a press conference in Hartford announcing the creation of a working group on school safety.

The group will evaluate the effectiveness of current school security legislation.  It will also look at new ways to protect schools

The working group will be made up of legislators, law enforcement officials, mental health professionals, educators, students and parents.
