The head of a Bridgeport nonprofit was honored Saturday for his years of service to young people in Connecticut.
Alan Mathis is the head of Lifebridge Community Services. Its mission is to “build resiliency in youth and families so they can realize their fullest potential."
Mathis is urging people to register for the Urban Scholar’s Day Camp, which begins on June 29.
He says will use state-of-the-art methods to keep kids safe from the coronavirus.
Sen. Richard Blumenthal told News 12 that Lifebridge and Mathis are “providing a way for moms and dads to go back to work.”
Applications for the summer camp are now available online.
