Local nonprofit groups are doing whatever they can to assist those affected by the recent tornadoes in the Midwest and South.
AmeriCares recently teamed up with Nestle to provide 32,000 bottles of water for tornado victims in Kentucky. AmeriCares says it will be sending more than 100,000 bottles in total.
The group is also sending supplies from trash bags to respirator masks to victims to help aid in the cleanup and provide medical assistance for those injured in the disaster.
"We reached out to those clinics that were in the disaster-affected areas to make sure they have the medicines and medical supplies that they needed," says AmeriCares Vice President of Emergency Response Ella Gudwin.
