Manufacturing jobs are currently in demand, and if you're looking to break into the industry -- there's a big career expo taking place today at Housatonic Community College in Bridgeport.
The expo is free and will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the courtyard located at 900 Lafayette Blvd. It'll kick-off with a panel discussion.
There will also be tours of HCC's Advanced Manufacturing Technology Center, along with exhibits from 28 manufacturing firms.
Some employers on hand include Sikorsky, Bigelow Tea, Connecticut Stone Supplies, ASML and more.
Officials say because of the shortage of skilled labor in the manufacturing industry, by 2025, it's estimated U.S. manufacturers will have two million jobs open due to a skills gap.
