The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health has banned door-to-door or car-to-car trick-or-treating for Halloween, saying it would be very difficult to maintain social distancing on porches and at front doors.
Officials say such activities pose too much of a risk for spreading COVID-19.
The department of public health also banned Halloween parties, carnivals and haunted houses.
Only events in which people remain in their cars will be allowed, such as pumpkin-carving or costume contests, as well as car parades and drive-thru attractions.
