When you hear the bells, you know it's the holiday season.
Did you know the oldest and only surviving bell manufacturer in the U.S. is in Connecticut? News 12's Rebecca Surran visited Bevin Bells in East Hampton for this week's Made in Connecticut.
The company was started in 1832 by four brothers. And six generations later, the family business presses and handcrafts tens of thousands of bells a year.
Bevin Bells makes cowbells, Kentucky cowbells, handbells, tea bells, call bells and boxing bells, including ones for boxing legends Mohammed Ali and Joe Lewis. But arguably, the most recognizable Bevin Bell is at the heart of the holiday classic – "It's a Wonderful Life." For more information about the company, visit
