Hey, we made it to Friday. It's time for Main Street, Connecticut, a chance to showcase our local towns and cities and all the things they have to offer. This week we're in Bridgeport. Us 12's Justin Devellus is its south on Boswick, Cantina and Grill this morning. Justin, I hope you're gonna be partaking in some deliciousness. Yes, some deliciousness, Mark. I'm gonna let you in on a little secret, OK? We're starting to hear more and more about this place. We are down by the water over here by Captain's Cove. We are at South on Boswick Cantina and Grill. We are here outside with uh the owner, the, the chef, the, the dishwa, you do everything, Michelle. Talk to us about this place. I do do everything. I started this place 10 years ago. I be celebrating my 10th anniversary, uh, officially in August, but I opened the doors in October, so I decided to just commemorate that with having you guys come aboard. Uh, I do breakfast and lunch. I'm open from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Fridays are usually a pretty hopping day. Uh, quite a few sandwiches have already gone out, as you guys have seen. I love that. Speaking of breakfast, we got a little sandwich over here. We're gonna do a little walk and talk action here as we head to the back patio here, and I made you a bacon, egg and cheese. This is, this is a bacon, egg and cheese. OK, Kenny, here I'm gonna stand here so you can see we got this. Oh, look at that. Oh my God, the cheese in there, melting. OK, one half's for Kenny, one half is for Kenny, and I'm gonna eat this half. OK, we're gonna do a little, little review maybe, bite into it. Sure. It's a double egg breakfast sandwich. Oh my God. You got yeah, I'm gonna need that. No, I'm gonna need that. Oh my God. And there's bread right here. What is that? It's a Portuguese roll, and they come in fresh every morning from the bakery, and you guys do lunch as well. And then you were talking about the porchetta sandwich that you do in the winter, right? Right. In the fall and winter I do my own porchetta. I bone it, season it, make my own seasoning. It's a Wednesday deal. I'm actually don't tell anybody, but I'll be running. Once a month porquetta during the summertime and I'm due to do one pretty soon. We won't tell anyone. We won't you heard that and talk a little bit about it. I mean, you built this place, right? Talk a little bit about the community, right? That's what that's what makes this place special. Yes, to me it does. I've created a little bit of a community here. Um, when I first started, no one even knew I existed. Uh, most people were making beeline just straight down the road and missing the place completely, saying, oh, I don't see where it is, and I always had flags out, but finally people started to, to stop, um. I I'm losing my train of thought right now. That's all right. I lose my train of thought. No, but I, I, I do a lot of homemade foods. I mean, I enjoy, I really enjoy what I do. The community is a big part of what wakes me up every morning. My customers have become good friends, um. You know, they, they count on me. They trust me, and um, you know, like I said, I really do enjoy. They're like they're an extended family. Well, thank you so much. South on Boswick Cantina and Grill. Hey, we made it to Friday. It's time for Main Street, Connecticut, a chance to showcase our local towns and cities and all the things they have to offer. This week we're in Bridgeport. News 12's Justin Devellus is at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. Let's get some Yidros, Justin. Let's go, Mark. I'm Italian. We're rushing around this morning, but this weekend we're all Greek. We're here with Judy. We're color coordinated, right? We planned this effort. What's going on this weekend? In a couple of hours this place is going to be jumping. Yes, so you're here to hear about our Greek Orthodox festival. It runs today, Saturday and Sunday. We open at noon. Important detail rain or shine, free parking and free admission, and there is parking to the left of the church. We have people to help with that. As you see, we have tents set up for outdoor dining today in our indoor dining in our newly renovated Aegean Hall. Some items on the menu fish. And what happens in the market over here? Talk to me about that. Yes, the marketplace you can visit. We have a huge white elephant sale where you can pick up books, housewares, toys, and we have many vendors who are in there to sell all their specialty items. And what about the dancing? What about the dancing? We got live performances, right? Every day Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at 5 p.m. you can be entertained by our youth who will be performing the traditional Greek dance. I love it. How important is this event? I mean this is a staple, right? I mean how important is it for the community and you see all the faces coming out well needed and this is when the community comes together and shows all their love and support. For the love of the church and so we even have outside vendors outside like diner people sponsors who come in and help us to make the festival a success and rain or shine the hours Mark's favorite question at noon every day, 5 p.m. again for the dancing, and we are open till 100 p.m. Saturday, Friday and Saturday. So come on down and all the pastries, right, the pastries made from our Philoppikos ladies. Justin, we'd love for you to try that. All right, don't mind, don't mind if I do. Here we go. Let's try.
