Make-A-Wish Connecticut is celebrating its 30th anniversary this weekend by honoring a 10-year-old boy from Darien.
The organization recently granted Connor O'Neill's wish to go to Italy on a cruise.
He says it was a chance for his family to relax and enjoy the start of a healthier time.
His mother says Connor has DiGeorge Syndrome, a chromosomal disorder that mainly impacts his heart and kidneys, and has had 10 open heart surgeries.
Connor, one of three boys who are all adopted, says it wasn't always easy, but he has stayed positive throughout it all.
The Celebrating Wish Ball is Saturday, Nov. 5 at Greenwich County Club.
Connor is one of two "wish kids" who will be honored at the event.
