A man accused of being responsible for his 69-year-old aunt's disappearance appeared at the Bronx Hall of Justice Tuesday.
Authorities have charged Andros Topping, 37, with murder and manslaughter in connection with the disappearance of Patricia Meyers. She was last seen on April 27.
Meyers' body has not been found, but a criminal complaint alleges that Topping inflicted blunt-force trauma on her. She relied on an oxygen mask for breathing.
Topping's lawyer says he is receiving mental health treatment while behind bars but would not comment further on the case.
He is due back in court on May 25.
