Police in Orange say a 21-year-old man was arrested after stabbing his mother several times.
Police say they arrested Charles Weber III Monday morning.
They say he stabbed his mother in the chest, head, face and hands on Friday at their home on Mulberry Lane.
Officers say Weber lives at the home with his parents and siblings.
Victoria Wilde, one of the family's neighbors, says he has a history of mental issues.
"It's something he's been struggling with for a while," she says.
Weber was arraigned in court Monday on charges of attempted murder and assault. Police say his mother needed surgery but is expected to recover.
Weber is being held on $500,000 bond.
