A Bridgeport man accused of causing a car accident on Friday before hitting two police cars has been arraigned on charges of resisting arrest and evading. Investigators say Jaime Gonzalez tried to use his car as a weapon against police, then fought with them to the point that they were ready to shoot him if necessary.According to authorities, Gonzalez got into an accident in Weston and then drove off. Redding officers then tried to stop him near the town line.
Police say he backed into four cars, including two Redding police cars, before police used a stun gun on him and he was arrested. Investigators say Gonzalez punched at least one of the officers.Police are trying to determine if Gonzalez was on drugs at the time of the incident.To see extended footage from the arraignment, click on iO Extra on Channel 612.
