A Bridgeport man says he is lucky to be alive after dozens of bullets ripped through his home during a gunfight next door.
The man told News 12 he was sitting in a chair watching TV Thursday night when gun shots came flying into his Harral Avenue home.
Bullet holes marked the windows, walls and cars in the driveway.
He says he ran into the kitchen to take cover, but ended up being grazed in the shoulder with a bullet.
According to police, there had been a shooting outside the Green Homes right next door.
Police say a short time later, someone showed up at the hospital with broken fingers and a gunshot wound to the leg, and was not cooperating.
They continue to investigate, and are getting surveillance video from Columbus School and a couple of the other houses.
The victim is counting his blessings. He says he, his wife and son had been cooking all day Thursday for a family party today.
The wife and son had just gone upstairs to bed before the shooting.
He says if they'd been watching TV with him, they might not have been alive today.
