The City of Bridgeport is gearing up to withstand the incoming snowstorm.

City crews have been pre-treating the roads around critical areas such as hospitals and schools. Officials are encouraging the public to park in designated school parking lots to help the city's emergency snow routes stay clear.

“The city is prepared, we have coordinated with all of our departments, but we need the public to participate as well," said Mayor Joe Ganim.

George Kelly, of the city’s Public Facilities Department, urged residents to stay off the roads to avoid any pedestrian crashes.
