New York Mets fans hit sporting goods retailers in droves after the team swept the Chicago Cubs in Game 4 of the National League Championship Series and secured a spot in the World Series.
The Modell's Sporting Goods store in Stamford saw customers flock to its Summer Street location starting at its 7 a.m. opening Thursday.
Over at Bobby Valentine's Sports Gallery Cafe on Main Street, fans hit the former Mets manger's restaurant for a post-win meal.
Despite the elation, the Mets still need four more wins to secure the World Series, which begins Oct. 27.
