Students in Milford were dismissed early Tuesday, on only the second day of classes.

News 12 was at the schools Monday as students were welcomed back from summer vacation.

The district is saying because of the heat, the school day was shortened by two hours and all after-school activities were canceled.

Norwalk is scheduling early dismissal for 11 schools Wednesday, their first day, also because of the heat.
