A business that recently moved to southwestern Connecticut is hoping to revolutionize the way people wash their cars.
Birdie's Auto Spa is not the only mobile car wash in the area, but owner Eric Birdsall says it's one of very few that can clean a vehicle with just a gallon of water and without a drop of it running onto the ground.
"With the steam, the water just dissipates into the air so there's no drainage necessary," Birdsall says. "Basically, we have our own water supply and power, so we're very self-sufficient."
Birdsall began with a traditional car wash in Rye, New York, but says when he and his wife found out about the success of steam car washes in eco-conscious and drought-stricken California, they decided to go green.
