Motorcyclist seriously injured in Stamford hit-and-run

Stamford Police say a driver is facing multiple charges this morning after he struck a motorcyclist and took off.
Police say 40-year-old Byron Luna Perez was driving a Honda when he struck the motorcycle around 9:30 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of West and Baxter avenues. 
Police say Perez took off but a witness got his license plate number and he is now charged with driving under the influence and evading the scene of an accident.
 
According to officials the motorcyclist was taken to Stamford Hospital and is seriously hurt.
