The NAACP announced Wednesday that it's launching its own investigation into the 2014 death of an African-American lawyer who worked in Stamford.
Abe Dabela, 35, of Redding, got into a car accident in April 2014. The medical examiner ruled that Dabela died from a gunshot wound and deemed his death a suicide.
However, Dabela's family and the NAACP were not satisfied with the ruling. Family members told the NAACP that their son had no reason to take his own life.
Police say they've done all they can to offer resources to the family and investigators.
