Treacherous, slippery road conditions on Sunday caused a number of accidents across the borough.
Among the crashes was a four-car pileup along the Bruckner Expressway and Hutchinson River Parkway. No injuries were reported, but the crash snarled the already heavy traffic.
A number of drivers were spotted pulling over in certain areas to wait until road conditions improved before continuing their treks. Many drivers brave enough to face the conditions were seen traveling only a few miles per hour, and with their hazard lights on.
Police vehicles were seen driving around with flashing messages, warning people of the icy roads.
The MTA also suspended bus services in the Bronx just before 11 a.m., but the outage only lasted 20 minutes.
