Nearly two dozen car tires were slashed in the parking lot of a co-op community in Edgewater Park.
The incident occurred between 6:00 p.m and 10 p.m. on Tuesday night.
Co-op board members are planning to install security cameras and lights to monitor the area.
Car owners believe that the slashings may have been the result of kids playing a practical joke.
Police say they only received one report of car vandalism, and noted that other victims should call the 45th Precinct to file a report.
Police are urging anyone with information on this case to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
