New Canaan police say they're trying to find the owner of a German shepherd that attacked a smaller dog.
Paul Lapin, the owner of the attacked dog, says he was walking his miniature goldendoodle named Roxie on Crystal Street by South School, when the shepherd came straight at them from the school's parking circle.
He says the shepherd's owners had it off leash while they played fetch in front of the school and that it bit Roxie's abdomen.
After they separated the animals, Lapin says he tried to ask the couple with the German shepherd for their contact information, but the owners refused and walked away.
"They took no responsibility for their actions," Lapin says. "It is really inconceivable that they would do so."
