There are several new state laws that go into effect Tuesday.

Police will no longer be allowed to pause their body cameras when they're dealing with the public.

Changes to the state's Paid Leave Law also take effect.
And a law requiring those who intentionally harm or kill a police K-9 to pay restitution to the department.
