Police released new information on the Newtown shooting that lead to a woman barricading inside her home for hours. 

Police said 32-year-old Meghan Gouveia is now facing multiple charges, including assault and criminal use of a firearm. 

Police said the gunshot victim, who they identified as a man, remains in stable condition. 

Officials also said two children were there at time, but weren't hurt, and are now being cared for by family members. 

The shooting happened on Sunday at around 8 p.m. on Boggs Hills Road in Newtown, Gouveia was barricaded until around 1 a.m. on Monday.
