As we move into July, several new laws have taken effect in Connecticut.
As of Saturday, people can now legally grow marijuana at home.
Residents can grow up to three plants, while households are capped at 12 total plants.
Parts of the state’s new gun laws also take effect Saturday.
A provision banning most loaded firearms from vehicles will now be expanded to include everything but pistols.
A tax cut on beer also kicks in. The tax on a barrel of beer will go down 16.7% as part of an effort to support Connecticut’s craft beer industry.
