Today was the first day of school at the new Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown.
The $50 million school is on the same property, but in a different location as the former school where 26 students and staff were shot and killed in 2012.
Officials say about 35 of the 400 students who started school today were in the building during the shooting, but none witnessed the tragedy.
Those students are now fourth graders.
