Target announced it will open at 5 p.m. on Thanksgiving, but close at midnight.

The retailer will reopen on Black Friday at 6 a.m. until 10, 11, or midnight.

The times are different from last year when it kept the stores open straight through the night.

Target is trying to be more accommodating to holiday shoppers.

Toys R Us, which was closed last year, will now be open on Thanksgiving.
