On the heels of returning to the anchor desk after a cancer diagnosis, and just two weeks before her retirement, News 12 Long Island's Carol Silva was inducted into the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, New York Chapter's Silver Circle.
This year, the NATAS is inducting 11 individuals into the prestigious Gold & Silver Circles. Both are made up of an elite group of professionals who have made significant contributions to New York Television. According to the NATAS, the Silver Circle recognizes individuals who have devoted a quarter of a century or more to the television industry, while the Gold Circle honors those legends whose contributions span 50 years or more.
During the ceremony, Silva was introduced by her friends and colleagues, News 12's Elizabeth Hashagen and Elisa DiStefano. The ceremony was held at the The Friars Club in New York City, and Silva was surrounded by her family, friends and News 12 colleagues.
