Department of Public Works crews are preparing for the potential of snow and ice during the latest round of winter weather.
Newtown Department of Public Works director Frederick Hurley says crews are working around the clock to prepare for the storm.
The storm is expected to hit the region late Monday night through early morning Tuesday.
DPW crews are loading trucks up with salt and working to treat roads so they do not freeze.
A combination of rain and snow is expected to fall across the region that could create icy conditions on roadways.
"When you get a continuing storm of ice, what makes it difficult on the crews is they have to continuously retreat the roads," Hurley says.
