Police are asking any possible witnesses of a fatal motorcycle crash in Norwalk to come forward.
The motorcyclist has been identified as 40-year-old Miguel Caro, of Norwalk. Police say Caro had just left the Hilltop Pub and was heading northeast on Ely Avenue early Sunday morning when his motorcycle hit the curb and struck a building.
Caro was taken to Norwalk Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. A makeshift memorial filled with flowers and candles was set up at the site of the crash.
Police say a witness claimed to see Caro speed and miss a stop sign. Police say there aren't any skid marks on the road, so there's no sign that he tried to brake. Caro's friends say he wasn't drinking that night.
The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation. Police say they are checking to see if there was a mechanical issue with his bike.
His family says Caro was born in Columbia but moved to Norwalk when he was a young boy. They say he served in the Marines for four years.
News 12 has learned that he was a partner at his brother-in-law's company, Gio's Driving All-Star Limousine.
Family members say Caro loved animals, especially his dog, Red, and was an avid Yankees fan. They say he enjoyed riding his motorcycle and did so for years.
