Norwalk police have a man in custody accused of robbing a deli and fleeing from officers.
They accuse Stamford's Bobby Rock, 45, of holding up Tom's Deli and Convenience Store on Connecticut Avenue Monday morning.
Swaroopa Tigulla, one of the owners, says she was making a sandwich when the man approached the cash register.
She says the suspect reached toward her with a towel over his arm, leading her to believe he had a gun hidden in his hand. Police say he actually had a phone hidden under the towel.
Rock allegedly took more than $400 and fled, but authorities say they caught him with the help of a police dog named Kimbo. In addition to demanding cash from the register, Swaroopa says the thief demanded bills taped to the wall with messages from friends wishing the business good luck.
Rock is being held on $100,000 bond and is due to appear in Norwalk court on July 5.
