The Jewish holiday of Passover this week is a boon for a Norwalk business that's making its mark in the world of kosher food.
The Challah Connection recently became the official "nosh partner" of Broadway's "Fiddler on the Roof." It's the exclusive supplier of authentic challah, which is eaten by characters in the production.
Jane Moritz has been the shop's owner and CEO for 14 years, and she gathers what she considers to be the best traditional Jewish baked goods from around the tri-state area, assembling them into kosher gift baskets that are shipped to customers nationwide
Online ordering and next-day shipping has allowed Moritz and her team to take what was once the traditional centerpiece of small family gatherings and holiday celebrations and bring them to the masses.
The next step, Moritz says, is getting the word out that just because her baskets feature kosher favorites like babka, matzo and challah, it doesn't mean it's just a Jewish thing.
