A Norwalk teen accused of fatally stabbing his childhood friend was arraigned Tuesday in Stamford.Amos Brown Jr., 16, turned himself in to police in connection to the Jan. 11 fatal stabbing of Tykwan Hunt, 17. Authorities say they found the victim's body in a McDonald's parking lot, yards from where a house party was held. Police say three other teens were also stabbed that night.
Inside the courtroom, Hunt's relatives wore sweatshirts with the Bridgeport teen's picture. They say they are confident justice will be served.
The suspect's father, Amos Brown Sr., and his lawyer are pushing to have the teen tried for murder as a juvenile, rather than an adult. Brown Sr. says his son was being actively recruited by gangs.
According to Hunt's family, the two teens used to play football together.
Brown Jr. is due back in Stamford Superior Court March 11.
