Brandon Gmelin was killed in an apparent landscaping accident in South Salem, New York.
Police saying Gmelin was attempting to move a log splitter when it started to roll down a hill striking the teen.
Gmelin was a lacrosse star and posts from the school's social media accounts say he had been planning to play lacrosse at Dickinson College.
